DJI Neo: Small Self Flying Drone

DJI has released their entry-level drone for users who have never used drones. Weighing at 135 grams, the Neo can fly and land on your palm. The ability to capture 4K footage at 30fps makes the DJI Neo the smallest and lightest 4K drone.

Automated Flight Paths

With AI subject tracking and DJI’s quick shots feature, the Neo can track you, stick close, and keep you center of the frame for selfies. The Neo can perform six automated flight moves such as:

  • Follow: The drone automatically follows a subject, keeping it in the frame while maintaining a safe distance.

  • Dronie: The drone flies backwards and upward, with the camera locked on your subject, creating a dramatic reveal shot.

  • Circle: The drone circles around a subject, keeping it centred in the frame for dynamic shots.

  • Rocket: The drone ascends with the camera pointing downward, capturing a unique perspective as it gains altitude.

  • Spotlight: The camera stays locked on a subject while you manually control the drone’s movement, allowing for creative shots.

  • Helix: The drone spirals upward around your subject, creating a cinematic effect.

  • Boomerang: The drone flies in an oval path around the subject, starting and ending at the same point, perfect for dramatic reveals.

The DJI Neo has a tempting price of £169 as a standalone package or you can buy the Fly More Combo at £299 which includes additional batteries and a carrying case.
