Astribot S1: Human-like Movement
A subsidiary of Stardust Intelligence called Astribot has unveiled a fast and precise humanoid that can execute movements at speed called the S1. Astribot notes that the S1 can execute movements with a top speed of 10 meters per second and can handle a payload of 10kg per arm. Not only that the S1 quick but it’s incredibly precise in that it can shave a cucumber, flip a sandwich in a frying pan, or pour wine. In the video It shows it can mimic another person’s movement which could indicate its potential to watch and learn in the future.
The human-like movement displayed by the S1 shows how robotics have developed a long way. The ability of the S1 to execute with precision and with the correct pressure/strength with certain actions shows the adaptability to adjust the strength needed to execute the action. For human beings, it takes months or years to train the brain to adjust strength and pressure when holding a mug or cutting a solid piece of wood. The precision of the S1 shows its ability to do this however the video only shows the top half. It would be interesting to see a full humanoid walking around, jumping, and adapting to different surfaces like a human being.
